Couple: Amy & Adam
Date: 10th April, 2015
Location: Southern Highlands, NSW
Venue: Bendooley Estate
Wedding cinematography takes on a whole new ‘light’ during the change of seasons. Beautiful Berrima, with its stunning autumn landscape and falling leaves provided the perfect backdrop for Amy & Adam's wedding ceremony and reception at Bendooley Estate.
Amidst the joy and laughter of having their hair and makeup done, Amy cracked opened a bottle of pink-labelled Moet, ensuring the preparations were bubbly in more ways than one.Our second wedding videographer captured the joy of the Groomsmen's preparations as well. Donned in their slick suits and brightly-coloured socks, Adam and his mates enjoyed laughs and stories over a Corona or two.
As Amy and Adam exchanged their vows, promising to inspire, encourage and “love each other truly through good times and bad”, a majestic weeping willow stood peacefully in the background.
After placing the rings on each other's fingers, Amy and Adam kissed amidst a burst of joyful cheers from their guests.
Family and friends then blew a sea of floating bubbles into the air, which the happy couple walked through, as husband and wife.
The reception room at Bendooley Estate is renowned for its rustic charm. A burning fireplace flung a warm glow around the room, but it didn't shine nearly as brightly as the smiles from Amy & Adam.
After emotional and funny speeches, everyone danced the night away. In front of the wooden bookcases, a white neon word-sign beamed brightly. The word perfectly summed up everyone's feelings on the day: LOVE.
One of the benefits of wedding cinematography over wedding videography is the way a couple's story is threaded seamlessly into the tapestry of moving images.
Early in this wedding film we hear Adam's father's wedding speech. Jim says: “The first time I saw my son was outside the theatre. And the nurse came toward me carrying a baby … a hairy baby. The nurse said, ‘You have a son’. She opened the blanket and said, ‘See’. I was so proud, and he was so handsome.”
As we hear Jim's words, we see footage of both Jim and Adam at Bendooley Estate standing casually by some trees. They're smiling, talking, sharing a joke. Adam shows his dad the wedding ring, and Jim is momentarily awestruck. At another point, Jim is gently inspecting Adam's suit in a loving, fatherly way.
The images and words ‘marry’ together perfectly. But this doesn't happen by accident, it requires hours of loving, meticulous and painstaking editing. Attention to detail is of the utmost importance. With a keen and experienced eye, we watch hours and hours of footage in order to handpick the most magical moments. It takes patience, experience and absolute passion. Just as well we love what we do!
